Malana & Cygnus
There’s something incredibly moving about a wedding that’s deeply rooted in both faith and family, and Malana and Cygnus’ day in Carstairs, Alberta (a small town just outside of Calgary) was exactly that—meaningful, intimate, and full of quiet joy.
Their Ukrainian Catholic ceremony was especially personal, officiated by Cygnus’ brother. It added such a beautiful layer of connection to an already rich and symbolic tradition. Another beautiful aspect is that Cygnus’ other two brothers got married in that very church! Every part of the ceremony felt intentional, reverent, and deeply felt—not just by Malana and Cygnus, but by everyone who was there to witness it.
Throughout the day Malana and Cygnus were so present with each other—soft smiles, playfulness, and a sense of ease that made everything feel natural.
Set against the simplicity of Carstairs, their portraits reflected that same quiet connection. Nothing rushed, nothing forced—just two people, fully in the moment together.
It was a day centered on what matters most: faith, family, and the beginning of something sacred and lasting.
